This year for the family reunion on my mom's side, we went to Pullman, Washington. It took about a day to drive up there, and a day to drive back, which left us 3 days for adventures. The first day, we started off with brunch at a place called The Pie Safe Bakery & Kitchen in Deary, Idaho. [Pullman is near the Washington/Idaho border, so some of the places we went were actually in Idaho and not Washington.] Deary is a cute little town with a population of about 520 people. I didn't get any pictures of the pastries we ate at the bakery, but they were delicious! My favorite was probably the cream cheese danish.
Next we went to a science museum called the Palouse Discovery Science Center. Last time we went to Pullman, we also visited this science center, but it was fun to go there again with all of my cute little cousins & siblings.
That night for dinner, we got some HUGE pizza's at a local pizza place called Pizza Perfection. We got some unique pizzas (the Greek Garden & The Boss) and then some normal topped ones as well. We got 3 different sizes of pizzas - and one cool thing that I haven't seen other pizza places do is, at Pizza Perfection, if you order & pick it up yourself you can get a pizza for free if its the same size.
The next day was the 4th of July, our nations birthday. For lunch, my uncle made some really good ribs, and that night we had s'mores in my cousins back yard and watched fireworks. After we did our own fireworks, there was an amazing fireworks show that they did in the park that is right behind my cousins backyard. You could tune in to a radio station that matched up with the fireworks, which was pretty rad.
The last day that we did a college tour at the University of Idaho. I have an ancestor who attended college there, and we got to find him in one of the old yearbooks. The campus is really beautiful and has a lot of cool history. We also got to see some trees planted by Theodore & Eleanor Roosevelt. The place where the trees were planted was designed by the same people who designed Central Park in NYC. What's funny is before our tour guide told us that fact, I told my sister that the park area reminded me of Central Park! (I haven't been there yet, but it looked like it from what I've seen in movies.)
One of the final activities we did was one of my favorites. We visit a "u-pick" flower field in Moscow, Idaho. It's one of my favorite things to do up in that area. Basically what you do is you go and pay some money to pick a bucket of flowers, and there's a wide variety to choose from. I was in charge of helping my little sister and our cousin and it was so much fun to see all the beautiful flowers!
This was such a fun trip and I loved it so much!! What are some other places I should visit??Leave your answer down in the comments & maybe I'll someday visit the place you suggested! :))
